I am Flordeliz Ranola, a photographer, art director, illustrator, and at times a travel writer. I studied film photography in college as one of our subjects in College of Fine Arts at UP Diliman, and got hooked ever since. I came from Imagine Nation Photography Studio, where I shot weddings and events professionally since 2011.
Almost every wedding I cover has something that stands out, something that is memorable, from red shoes for the bride to the couple welcoming the guests at the reception door instead of the other way around. The incidents that are not so usual, the little surprises and various reactions I get are what makes each wedding special, and no matter how much I know about the sequence of events in a wedding, there is always something interesting to shoot. AND I LOVE IT. Each wedding is different. And my goal is to capture it, so when couples look back at the photos, they can proudly say “THIS IS OUR STORY, AND IT’S A DAMN GOOD DAY.” I focus on the moments, the emotions, candids. After all, these memories are all that will matter the most after many years.
Oftentimes, coordinators describe me as relaxed when shooting. This helps (in my experience) my clients to become at ease with me too, thus giving me their natural emotions. And I love it when my clients develop confidence as the shoot goes on.
As a Fine Arts graduate, I incorporate my drawings and paintings to some my clients’ photographs as well, adding more charm and mood to the story of the photo.
