Fitz and Radz: Love and Peace

Fitz and Radz’ two day engagement in Benguet was all about love and peace.

Venues: Mt. Yangbew, Mt. Kalugong, and Mt. Kalugong Kape-an/Cafe, Benguet Province

Although it was a slightly rainy afternoon, we took the chance to catch the sunset at Mt. Yangbew, just in case it would appear. The trek was muddy and thus, harder, as expected, but it was breathtaking at the top.

See their fun engagement shoot here.

The golden light colored the entire sky, and there was I time when I instructed Fitz and Radz to just stare at the view and enjoy it. The fog added a dreamy feel amidst the rocks, and our shoot at Mt. Yangbew was capped with a gorgeous sunset that was so clear and vibrant, like it didn’t rain that afternoon.

Next day, we headed to Mt. Kalugong, about an hour away from Baguio City, where we took quick shots at the coffee shop (coffee and food were great!) before heading to the rock formations and the trees.

The engagement was almost shoot-as-it-happens, where no concrete plans or pegs were followed. It was spontaneous, that even the dogs from the cafe agreed to join!

Fitz and Radz: Relaxed photo shoot in Baguio

Two days of fun, laughter, love and wackiness for Fitz and Radz’ relaxed photo shoot in Baguio City and the mountains of Benguet province (there’s a part two for this!). They filled their shoot with the things they love–coffee, travel, and hanging out. It was simple yet soulful. It’s the kind of engagement I love documenting!

Venues: @seollemcafe and around Baguio City

Mario and Aika: The Calm in the Storm

Well, literally, there was a storm when I shot their engagement photoshoot. But as we all know, relationships are not always walks in the parks, and it’s when people love more. Real love is choosing to love the person despite the rainy days.

Mario and Aika were college schoolmates, but their relationship started only after their school days. From then on, they were inseparable.

We shot first in Crisologo in Vigan at night; the team were prepared for the the thunderstorm weather reports (LOL), and Mario and Aika were okay to shoot under the rain. There was blackout in the town, but at least there was a restaurant with a generator, and one side of Crisologo had open lamp posts! Rain shot is a challenge, but I love how it can be sweet too.

The next day, the sky wasn’t looking so good and it kept raining the entire morning, but we were surprised we had an overcast for a few hours. Hence, we were able to shoot outside the Bantay tower and church, and a few minutes at the beach at Santa, Ilocos Sur. We capped up the shoot at the beach with a bang–strong winds and rain! And we got the perfect shot 🙂

Venues: Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Bantay Church and bell tower, and Santa beach Coordination: Mye Malihan Wardrobe styling and props: Rochelle Bakisan

Daniel and Sush: Fine Time

Let’s take a tour into what a typical day in the lives of Daniel and Sush looks like. I always want my couples to be as they are, and their engagement shoot to be as natural as possible, a reflection of who they are. So they did a lot of activities–drinking coffee and tea, working, playing the bass, reading, praying, hanging out, joking one another, and laughing eighty percent of the time. As Sush told me after seeing the photos, she never laughed this much in a day. This, we are all glad. Hehe.

John and Nerissa: On Top of the World

When John and Nerissa messaged me for a hiking kind of engagement photo shoot as it is their dream to have one, and since they don’t have the time anymore to do so like before, I immediately said yes!

John and Nerissa are two very humble, kind and gutsy people. Wanting to do the full hike, we started our day very early at around five in the morning, and ended shooting at around six in the evening. Exhausting, of course, as it was 90% rocky. It’s not for the faint heart (and knees LOL!), but the experience and the view were all worth it! The shoot was one of the many times where I felt it wasn’t work because I got to visit a new place, actually felt and appreciate the place, and the couple became my new friends!

Congrats John and Nerissa on your engagement and on your wedding very soon! I wish you all the best for your marriage 🙂

Eugene and Steph: Weekend Engagement

Steph and Eugene opted for an engagement in the quiet and lovely place of Tagaytay at Fernwoods. Having six looks (yes, six!), we enjoyed every bit of it as we went from one spot to another, their friends showing support for them by cheering, and Steph and Eugene being all natural and elegant in front of the camera. Their shoot was romantic, light and sophisticated. It was love at first shot for us, just like as Steph was love at first sight for Eugene. 🙂

Ian and Mel are two happy doctors who have a positive attitude. It’s very natural for them to smile and laugh especially when they’re together. It was raining hard also on the way to Casa San Pablo, and yet we still pushed with the shoot and said we’ll do whatever we can with what the weather gives. Low and behold, the rain stopped by the time we reached the venue.

Mark and Jen: Downpour of Love

Jen has been single for many years. She has been traveling for  years too, solo, or with her beloved car named Jj. Until she met Mark who likes to travel as well, solo, or with his beloved car named Allaine. Time allowed them to meet at a church, and now they are traveling together; a new journey with joy, and with a happy and thankful heart.  They knew it was worth the wait.

liz_3181liz_3188 liz_3074 liz_3137 Their engagement shoot was a downpour, the rainiest I’ve shot maybe! Good thing these two stayed positive and was game to still shoot whatever the situation offered. They kept on smiling mindless of their wet clothes, mud and wind. It was as natural, as fun and as candid as it can be, and all of us enjoyed our day (we just needed our hot soup and vitamin c’s that night!) A day of downpour of love. 🙂

Dunhill and Myg: Pray Hard, Work Hard, Play Hard in NYC

liz_3574

liz_4439 liz_4265 liz_4400liz_4271

Dunhill and Myg are a very good example of (hashtag) couplegoals, they work hard, pray hard, and travel hard. Having a kid doesn’t hinder them to travel and enjoy, and most times they would bring their cute little girl with them, educating her with the ways of the world; a Dora-the-explorer in the making. Coming for a vacation slash work in New York city, we managed to shoot for a few hours. A roaming around kind of shoot, these two were picture ready and direction wasn’t much needed. We just enjoyed the shoot, and the crowd 🙂

Jerome and Charmie: Morning After

My cousin, Charmie, got married to Jerome, whom she met a few years ago while working in the Middle East. We were all excited and frantic, even our relatives from afar went home to the Philippines to witness their I do’s in Roxas City, Capiz. We continued with the happiness in Boracay island, where I shot Charmie and Jerome’s post-nup.

It was a combination of trash-the-dress, adventure, and just hanging out kind of photo shoot.

Del and Venus: Getting Cozy

After working hard the whole week, books + coffee + sofa on grasslands are probably the best way to get cozy, with your love of your life. Del and Venus did this for their afternoon photo engagement session. A very relaxed, fun and homey shoot, much like them!

Ben + Tere + Max = Happy Family

Every weekend, Ben and Tere spend quality time with their baby, Max, at Bonifacio High Street. They do things together. They play together, walk together, relax together, eat together. They even have yogurt together, Max’s fave dessert.  When Max is happy, Ben and Tere are happy. Whenever Max feels tired, Ben and Tere pat him on the head, kiss him, hug him, give him treats and water–such perfect ‘parents’! Indeed, a one happy family. 🙂

Mark and Kate: Love and Travel

LIZ_7760

A day before their wedding, Mark and Kate spent their day walking, trekking, jumping, running, sitting, lying, rolling (just kidding!), smiling and laughing in the mountains and beaches of Basco, Batanes for their engagement shoot. It was a sunny but breezy day, perfect for a relaxed and adventurous shoot, very casual and nothing formal. It was Mark and Kate’s first time to see the sights of Batanes, and their idea was to tour while we shoot, and just enjoy the view and the moment–a leisure slash work.

LIZ_6866 LIZ_7432 LIZ_7347 LIZ_7700 LIZ_7620 Batanes was perfect for them as they are both photo enthusiasts, chill, with an adventure in their hearts. 🙂
